In this season finale episode, Dutch receives a distress call from Air Force One, where Dillon is guarding President Ronald Reagan. Things get complicated when it becomes clear that Dillon has defected to the Soviet Union, and is holding the President of the United States hostage alongside other Soviet sleeper agents. Dutch meets the plane on the tarmac in Alaska and assembles a team to kill Dillon and free the passengers.
In the climactic scene, Dutch shoots Dillon several times in the chest, killing him. After neutralizing the Soviet sleeper agents, President Reagan's security team console Dutch over the loss of his partner. As Dutch lights a cigar, Dillon emerges from the presidential bedroom unharmed. It is revealed that Dillon had been working as a double agent to uncover a major threat to Reagan, and the attack had been carefully planned by Dutch to keep the assassins from killing the passengers and crew.
